Creating Space in the Spine

At Thrival Mode, we focus on how well your body adapts to life, not just how it feels on a good day.

ELDOA® –active spinal decompression, is a precise, guided movement practice designed to reduce chronic load on the spine, improve joint space and support a calmer, more responsive nervous system. Rather than pushing flexibility or intensity, ELDOA works through intentional decompression, giving the body room to reorganize, regulate and recover. This work is taught and guided, in-person classes by Dr. Keri.

For those curious to experience this work directly, small group classes are offered weekly.

What Is ELDOA Spinal Decompression?

ELDOA is a system of precise postural positions designed to decompress specific segments of the spine.

Each posture:

  • Targets one spinal level at a time
  • Hydrates the disc at that segment level
  • Uses gentle but active muscular engagement
  • Is held long enough to allow neurological and mechanical change

ELDOA incorporates principles of myofascial stretching and neuromuscular engagement, but it is taught as a segment-specific method, not a general stretching practice.

The goal is simple and specific: to create space where space has been lost.

Why ELDOA Matters for the Nervous System

The spine is a primary communication highway for the nervous system.

When spinal segments remain compressed over time, the body often adapts by increasing tension, limiting movement options and staying in a low-grade stress response. Over time, this can show up as stiffness, fatigue or recurring discomfort elsewhere in the body.

By reducing compression and improving sensory input, ELDOA helps the nervous system shift out of constant “holding” and into responsiveness.

What to Expect

ELDOA classes at Thrival Mode are focused and intentionally paced.

In a typical class, you can expect:

  • Clear instruction and demonstration
  • Time spent setting up each posture correctly
  • Periods of stillness and controlled muscular effort
  • Attention to breathing and internal awareness
  • Instructor support for any special considerations

Many people who attend classes notice:

  • Improved ease of movement
  • Less neck, back or joint stiffness
  • A greater sense of calm or groundedness
  • Less pain overall

True stories from true Clients

After an ELDOA class I feel deeply stretched & a bit worked all over. Lots of tired little muscles. I feel more open and like I have more awareness throughout my whole body. Classes are a total mental and physical challenge! Very different than any stretching I have ever done. I love it!

Doug M.

ELDOA is one of my favorite places to go when I'm feeling sore and achy, having bad posture and wanting relief. Dr Keri is very attentive & fun in every single class. Even though I sometimes feel like I have no idea what I'm doing, she helps me feel confident with every pose, stretch and exercise. After each class I feel rejuvenated, energetic and confident in myself! I recommend this class to all my friends and family, and now especially to you. You won't regret it.

ELDOA is really hard when you are doing it. It doesn’t feel like it should be but it is. When I’m finished I immediately feel the benefits! The more I practice, my body understands the movements better and I feel more in tune. I can feel my body getting longer and more limber. There is a real mind/body connection that I haven’t felt doing anything else
