Stretches For your Knee
We do these stretches because the knee often acts like a “passenger” between the foot, ankle, and hip. When the muscles above or below the knee are tight, the knee can start taking on extra stress instead of letting force move smoothly through the leg. Stretching the quads and hip flexors helps reduce tension along the front of the thigh where it pulls toward the knee. Stretching the calves helps because those muscles cross behind the knee from below, while the hamstrings cross behind the knee from above. Together, these muscles crisscross around the back of the knee, so improving how they slide, glide, and lengthen can help create more space around the joint, improve mobility, and support better knee function over time.
